Andrew Kerzak is a 2023 candidate for a Master of Science in Quantitative Economics from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to Pitt, he graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with honors and a minor in Accounting. While at WVU Andrew tutored in the Davis College, mentored perspective students in the University Extensions Peer Mentor program, and completed a capstone research project investigating the level of competition in Major League Baseball. His professional experience consists of completing an internship with the Philly Pretzel Factory where he built and managed the local business accounts while working with the businesses data to facilitate revenue growth to keep the business open during the initial phases of the COVID-19 pandemic. This internship provided hands-on experience manipulating data to obtain information while answering real-world problems. Upon graduation Andrew plans to continue in the field of data analytics, where he can use the analytical skills learned in prior internship experiences combined with the technical and theoretical skills to be learned in the Master of Quantitative Economics program.
