Careers in Quantitative Economics

MQE graduates meet employer demand for well-rounded individuals who can bring economic insights and strategic thinking to data science. 

The MQE Program is a STEM-designated degree program (CIP Code 45.0603: Econometrics and Quantitative Economics) whose students can apply for a 24-month STEM extension of F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT). 

The MQE Program has an Advisory Board, comprised of industry leaders in economics and data science, who serve as consultants for the original coursework and partner with the Capstone Course. 

Economist job prospects should be best for those with a master’s degree or Ph.D., strong analytical skills, and experience using statistical analysis software. 2020, Bureau of Labor and Statistics
